Biography

The Dotsons are a duet based out of Silver Lake, IN.  The husband and wife team, John and Yavonna Dotson make up the group.  They have 3 children, a 21 year old son, Christopher, a 17 year old son, Seth and a 4 year old daughter, Emily.

John and Yavonna have been singing together for over 22 years.  They started out singing in their home church, funerals and weddings.  In early 1998 God started opening doors and leading them in a different direction.  They did their first recording project in October 1998.  In February 1999 they were given the opportunity to open for the legendary group, The Kingsmen,  at a concert in Syracuse, IN.  Shortly after the concert the phone started ringing with inquiries about booking The Dotsons. 

They are now in their 11th year of traveling and singing for the Lord with a total of 6 recording projects.
Soon after the group did their first recording in 1998 they realized that God had given John the gift of song writing.  John is becoming very well known for his song writing abilities with songs such as Gardens of Stone, The Man I use to be, Lost and Found, No One Expected Me,  I’m gonna run for home and Think of Me.
The Dotsons desire is to be used of the Lord to see souls saved.
